Abstract: Circular Agri-Food Economy is an ecosystem that enhances, both food security and biodiversity conservation, prevents food losses and food wastage, underlines the importance of efficient management of perishability and using regenerative agriculture through reusing, recycling, recovering and reprocessing food waste and organic components of waste into circular loops.
Serpil Guran will discuss the innovative food waste reutilization approaches that can support the circular agri-food systems concept, and related challenges and opportunities in transforming current agri-food systems into circular and regenerative forms. She will also share information on current Rutgers University food waste reutilization activities within circular agri-food systems concept and potential impacts to soil health and climate change mitigation.
This will be a hybrid event.
