Abstract: As the climate crisis intensifies, the expectation grows for higher education institutions to do more than just educate future leaders—they must also take an active role in climate action. This talk will explore how universities are uniquely positioned to lead the charge against climate change. I will discuss how institutions can meet the rising demand for climate action by embedding sustainability into every aspect of university life, from curriculum to campus operations. Focusing on Rutgers’ climate efforts, I will share how we are crafting strategies to promote sustainability across a diverse range of stakeholders, underscoring the importance of a unified, action-oriented response to the climate emergency. Additionally, I will provide an update on Rutgers’ progress toward its climate goals and highlight the ways that all members of the Rutgers community can contribute to advancing these critical objectives.
This will be a hybrid event.
