Manasa Bollempali, PhD

Dr. Manasa Bollempalli is a climate policy expert with over a decade of interdisciplinary experience spanning global governance, public policy, and sustainability. She currently serves as Postdoctoral Research Associate with the NSF CoPe MACH project, and as Lab Coordinator at Rutgers Coastal Communities Adaptation Lab. Her current research is focused on designing adaptive frameworks for coastal hazards in NJ, NYC, and Philly, coordinating teams and stakeholders across academia, government, and the private sector.
With a Ph.D. in Global Affairs from Rutgers, her expertise includes climate, migration, and security policies. Previously, as Lead Climate Strategist at The B Team, Manasa shaped international policy dialogues at the UNFCCC COPs, G7, and G20, spearheading multi-stakeholder campaigns including The Transformation is Unstoppable at COP28. Manasa has also contributed to climate research on plastics and waste management, Circular and Blue economies, at the UN Global Environment Facility in NYC and conducted ethnographic research on climate change impacts with the National Museum of Denmark’s Tranquebar Initiative.
Earlier in her career at Deloitte Global and Rutgers University, she developed integrated marketing and communications strategies, managed editorial workflows, and built global partnerships, skills she continues to apply in translating complex science and policy into accessible, action-oriented narratives.
