Current Research
My current research interests focus on how to enhance science and data literacy skills to support a science literate society. Specifically, I am interested in how exposing and supporting opportunities to engage in the authentic process of science as well as facilitating opportunities for students and educators to engage with authentic data in a variety of ways can increase science and data literacy, engagement in science, and identification with science. My work is focused on enhancing and increasing the scientific and data literacy of educators and students (grades 6-16) as well as the general public by connecting them with authentic data, cutting edge science, and scientists trained in effective science communication skills.
